10 Productivity Tools For Small Businesses

10 Productivity Tools For Small Businesses

Productivity and time management are key to the success of any entrepreneur. There are so many great productivity tools for small businesses that are available online, most of which are free, to help you grow your business. But time is of the essence if you want to run a profitable business. Starting a new business is not an easy task particularly if you are restricted by budget, time and other resources that bigger organisations take for granted.

If you want your business to be able to withstand the tests of time and grow organically, you will want to take advantage of the available free and less expensive resources on the internet. I have curated 10 powerful business tools to help small business owners in growing their businesses. Some of these tools I use for my own businesses.

1. Google Analytics

Wow, powerful Google! You can’t escape its net. There is Google everywhere you go. Google is not only known for its search engine, but it does provide great free tools like Google Analytics for businesses. As a starter business, you want to be seen on Google pages; this can’t be made possible if you don’t know the number of people who visit your site daily, where they come from, their gender, what brings them to your site and how they got there. With these metrics at hand, you will be able to tailor your services to meet your clients’ needs.

Google Analytics lets you track your website’s traffic and the behaviour of your site’s visitors.

2. Google Docs

Consider having a Gmail account if you don’t already have any. Though many Gmail account holders don’t even go beyond the email services it provides. But by using Google Docs means that you can easily create shareable documents, spreadsheets and even presentations. Better still, any member of your team can view and update uploaded files via the internet.

Google Docs brings your documents to life with smart editing and styling tools to help you easily format text and paragraphs

Google Docs is a free tool with thousands of fonts, images, drawings, and tables to choose from.

3. Dropbox

I use Dropbox to store and share files. It is accessible 24/7 as long as you have internet connection. This allows you to store and share files, however big, with anyone – families, friends and work team. Dropbox for Business facilitates team collaboration on projects anywhere.
It gives you a free quota, but becomes chargeable when you exceed the free option. You may not have to pay for any online storage anymore if you use both Google Docs and the free version of Dropbox depending on the amount of files you store. If you are a micro business, the free option of Dropbox may be the free online storage space your business needs to begin with. However, you have 14 days to trial any of the options to determine your level of usage.
