How To Be Successful When Others Are Failing

How to be successful when others are failing

There is a fine line between success and failure. Crossing either line has consequences; good or bad. Success comes with a price. No one is saying it is ever going to be easy; but the journey will be easier through your persistence and hard work. Why would you want to succeed while others are failing? Success or failure is a matter of choice.

With the right thoughts and the right actions, success is inevitable. I personally sign up to that.

What Are The Traits Of a Highly Successful Person?

When you are successful in anything (business or personal), you differentiate yourself from the norm in the society. If your success is not thrust upon you as a result of your family background (born with a silver spoon); but through your own hard work, then this would be peculiar to you:

  • An action taker – take an ethical action however the consequences
  • Be willing to pay the price for your actions, because they are not going to be easy, sometimes.
  • You are Persistence. Quitters are cowards, but persistence gets the right result
  • No excuses for being a failure. He sees beyond those problems and excuses but sees every problem as an opportunity for success.
  • A successful person is a great thinker, a visionary who can see beyond what is happening now.

Ninety-nine percent of all failures come from people who have a habit of making excuses. – George Washington Carver

To a small mind, success is having a good job that pays a fat salary. Yes, to some extent. But only a fraction of human beings belongs to this sector of fat salary earners. What happens when their boss pulls the plug and they are back to the stage of begging to apply for jobs again?

Then there is a struggle to maintain the set lifestyle they had when they were on that fat salary. However, if they had multiple streams of income, even if the boss pulls the plug, they will be unmoved because there are other areas that are bringing in money for them.

When should you start planning to be successful?

There is no set time to plan to be a successful person or to have a successful business. Success starts now!
The book by Jack Canfield – The success principles: How to get from where you are to what you want to be is a must read if you haven’t read it yet.

To be a very successful person or in your chosen career, requires you to have many streams of income. You can not rely on just your salary if you want to be very successful in life.

As a person, I grew up in a business environment where reliant on one business or stream of income was a taboo.
Even at the peak of the recent global recession, only the toughest were able to survive it and still surviving it. Many people lost their jobs, hence, lost their homes and because they did not have any backup plan, their financial condition was nothing to write home about.

Nonetheless, people that did not rely just on what their annual salary could bring were able to stand the tests of the global financial meltdown.

What do you do and how do you start?
Start, no matter how small the beginning may be. Not starting at all is an excuse to fail.

The greatest trait of a successful person is PersistenceRome was not built in a day. It took years of planning and hard work to build.

Energy and persistence conquer all things. – Benjamin Franklin

5 Ways To Become Successful Through Persistence

1. Know where you are going and how to get there by setting yourself realistic goals. This is where your vision and goals setting comes into play. Set goals that are aligned with your personal growth.

2. Stop procrastinating, take action now. As the world is moving at its fastest pace, today’s idea may become obsolete if you do not take an immediate action.

3. Once started, keep up the pace, do not look back or lose the momentum, otherwise discouragement sets in. Set yourself a progress map or timeline to measure your performance. This way, you are able to tell where you are and how further to go.

4. Persistence brings forth endurance. It allows you to take action even if all your body cells are telling you the opposite. It is your action that will bring your desired result, and not being motivated; though motivation may be a contributory factor to success.

5. The determination to succeed no matter what. If you don’t have the determination to carry on, sorry, you won’t go far.

If I had to select one quality, one personal characteristic that I regard as being most highly correlated with success, whatever the field, I would pick the trait of persistence. Determination. The will to endure to the end, to get knocked down seventy times and get up off the floor saying, “Here comes number seventy-one! – Richard M. DeVos

Now is the time to start with what you have in order to get to where you are going; if you are looking to be successful financially.

How can you generate passive income using other people’s products?

You may not have any product or service to sell, but you can start generating streams of income by selling other people’s products and earn commissions for doing so.

You can do this by becoming an affiliate marketer to others by promoting their products to make money for yourself. There are many affiliate marketing companies on the internet, most of which are free to join, give this a trial.
